Derbyshire pair arrested for drugs offences after police intercept their car

A pair of men were arrested after a search of their car by police in Derbyshire uncovered suspected class A drugs.

Officers arrested two people yesterday (Tuesday, October 24) after stopping a vehicle at Kilburn Toll Bar.

A Heanor SNT spokesperson said: “Officers spent yesterday targeting vehicles linked to the supply of drugs in Amber Valley. A vehicle was stopped at Kilburn Toll Bar and the two occupants were detained for a stop-search.

“A quantity of suspected class A drugs were located along with other items. A 61-year-old male from Heanor and a 41-year-old from Ripley were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs and possession of a bladed article.

“The two have since been bailed pending further enquiries.”
