Tributes to popular Ilkeston pensioner described as '˜pillar of the community'
Tributes have been paid to a pensioner '˜with a heart of gold' who has died following an alleged altercation at his Ilkeston home.
Friends, family and community members have described 86-year-old Derek Levers as ‘a true gentleman who loved life’.
The popular pensioner, of Station Road, enjoyed sport and travel, and even had a holiday planned for next month.

Hide AdPolice and paramedics were called to his home on Sunday, May 14, following reports of a dispute between Mr Levers and another person. He was found collapsed and helped by a passer-by, but sadly died in hospital the following morning.
